A week ago, by chance and without even planning it, I got to take part to a great experience, filled with love for photography and passion for people: The Crazy Workshop in Barcelona.
The first time I took a picture I didn’t have a studio to run. No bills, no clients, I had no idea about how to earn money and be a photographer.
I was nine years old and I was enjoying the snow and my father’s company. For the first time I felt the emotion of creating, waiting and sharing.

Sometimes I need a kind reminder of how it all started: the feelings I had while shooting when I was a child and the passion I’ve always had for photography and people. It helps me staying true to myself and giving my best to my clients.
This time, the kind reminder came from some amazing people: Don and Helen Bringas, Oscar Castro, Lukas Piatek and Jacob Loafman.
At The Crazy Workshop, together with technique and marketing, social media, personal branding, I learned and confirmed something much more important to me.
While immersing in the beauty of Palo Alto and feeling a strong sense of belonging, I shared kindness, respect, passion, and the art of being good people before being talented photographers. We have the responsibility to create memories out of the most important moments in life and I want to look at them as a human being, not just as a professional.
Don and Helen are Love themselves.
It isn’t hard to understand how they easily capture emotions: you can see how they feel them.
Their work is truly inspiring and I was impressed by the relationship they build with the couple and everyone who works with them.

Oscar Castro, The Wedding Photographer, is bold and sharp. Together with Don and Helen, he is the personification of the Crazy Photographer, taking risks, following his vision, being constantly surprised and surprising.
Lukas Piatek and Jacob Loafman are making the greatest job with Lookslikefilm.
They are building an inspiring international community of photographers supporting each other and helping who joins to make the best out of each shot. I had the opportunity to enjoy a photo session with both of them and I loved finding out how their shooting styles reflect their unique personalities.
I would call Lukas Piatek the lovers whisperer.
He observes emotions and witnesses them quietly. He throws his intense gaze over the couple while respecting its intimacy, mood and soul. I felt the truth of his shots and loved the way his voice and vision filter through the couple’s shapes and feelings.

Jacob Loafman is brave and free.
I loved witnessing how he constantly moves forward, experimenting without fear and sharing his passion with everyone. He is generous with others, with himself and with his art.
In contrast to many photographers, he would say that consistency is overrated, but with his wild and beautiful soul he gives his whole work a unique touch while keeping his mind free to express itself in hundreds of different ways.

As a photographer, I feel I can do much more while being part of an inspiring community of talented professionals and human beings. I love learning from examples and developing my style through sharing, talking, watching and listening. I’m really glad I got to meet a crazy group of photographers (teachers and students) and I’m sure that while shooting my next wedding I’ll be a little different and at the same time a little more me.
